Dear Pastors and Church Leaders,
The goal for the work of the District Reporter is to share the good news
of transformational activities in our district. I try to find those
stories and those AMENS that show the variety of church and community
happenings that seek to transform. We have many and I’d like the
word to get out. Please help me in my efforts. I would like the
average person in the pew to get excited along with the pastors and
leaders.
PLEASE HELP BY:
-
Copying the attached brochure to be cut in half and used as a
bulletin insert.
Not many people subscribe to the “Witness” in which our district
news is found once monthly. The brochure is to show people how to
access it through our district website. (The bonus is that they may
learn to use the district website.)

Informing people in your church that we have a good district website
that has links to
our local churches and many United Methodist happenings on the
conference level and worldwide.

Preparing a “McAllen District Happenings” bulletin board
on which
the “McAllen
District News” section is pulled out of the “Witness” and
displayed. The AMENS sent to pastors and lay leaders could also be
displayed on the bulletin board. (Not all the AMENS and pictures
get into the “Witness”.)

Passing along the “Across the District→FROM CHURCH TO CHURCH,
AMEN!”
column to the average person in the pew
by including it in your
church newsletter or by creating a church email list that could get
the news out.
