 "Board of
Pensions met November 1st. As I
understand it, they voted to keep the health
insurance rates the same, no
increase in the rates for
clergy, spouse, or family."
Last Sunday was the "last Sunday" in
October - whew time flies!!!!! Please
send me your Vital Signs report ASAP. Thank
you to all of you that have been so
prompt and sent your report in.
Please
check your Local Church Committees form that you
previously submitted at your Charge Conference.
If you did not furnish an email address for your
Chair of Trustees, please send it to me ASAP.
The Conference office is requesting this
information for their records. In fact, if
there are any email addresses that you did not
submit for any of your Chair persons,
please provide them and submit the forms again.
Year
end "Check Out" is already being prepared for.
(All together - groan!!!) I need your input as
to how you want to do it this year. It seemed
to go very well with everyone submitting their
information at their convenience, at their
office & computer. I know a few of you came to
the district office for assistance and that
worked out real well too.
Do
you want to continue with that procedure or do
you miss the everyone coming together at one
location for an all day affair and
fellowship? Some time back I know it used to
be combined with a Pastors/Professionals day and
we could certainly do that again if you wish. I
am open to your suggestions and am willing
to do it either way. Let me know what you
think.
You should be receiving a brochure
for the mid winter camps at Mt. Wesley. The
district office has received five (5)
scholarships for the mid winter camp
at $45.00 each. If you have a youth that
needs one of these partial scholarships,
please let the District Office know.
Do any of you have any of the Peace
with Justice envelopes left over from last
June's special offering? Call or
email the District Office.

First United Methodist Church in Harlingen
has donated approximately 75 choir robes to
be sent to churches in the New Orleans area.
We have
churches in New Orleans ready to receive the
robes, but I need
assistance transporting the robes from
Harlingen to Victoria.
If anyone is traveling from the valley to
the Victoria area, please contact Rev.
Marilyn Roeder (FUMC-Victoria) at
361-578-2701 or Jona at 956-423-0540
(FUMC-Harlingen). Your assistance is greatly
appreciated.
Blessings, Marilyn Roeder
Just sharing that I have a new cell phone
number. It replaces my former 373 number.
My church or home phone is still preferred
and probably quicker since I'm not one to
carry my cell phone with me to the
office. My cell phone lives in my purse so
it's with me when I hit the road.

Several of the Charge Conference packets are
being returned without the Lay Member to Annual
Conference Registration form being completed.
Please make sure to complete that form, send a
copy to the conference office and include a copy
in your Charge Conference folder for Larry.
Thanks.

We are receiving several large manila envelopes with "postage
due". The new postal rate that recently went in to effect now
treats large oversize envelopes differently.
The first ounce costs $.80 and each additional ounce costs $.17 cents. A
typical large envelope with two or three sheets of paper enclosed (i.e.
Transformation Survey) costs $1.14 (.80 for the first ounce and .17 each
for the next two ounces) . Several of you are only putting two $.41
stamps (.82) and that is not sufficient postage.
Please be sure to use sufficient postage on all of your large envelopes.
If you do not have one, you might consider purchasing a postage scale to
assist you in determining the correct postage. They are available thru
the Post Office or Office Depot and are very inexpensive. I have been
able to catch some of the envelopes and pay the extra postage but I may
not be able to catch them all. Your material may be delayed and sent
back to you for insufficient postage. Thanks for your help.
Several have ask if we wanted the complete
Transformation Surveys booklet returned to
the district office. Please copy the survey
question/answer pages and mail those to the
district office. You need to retain your
complete booklet.

have allocated about ten Walking With Jesus'
